This is one of my favorite buildings in Nikko's historical district. I can spend many pleasant hours there simply by sitting down and looking around.
The color photo of this building can be seen
here.
This is a
Black and White Weekend and
Scenic Sunday entry.
Have a wonderful weekend.
That's very beautiful. I like it in black and white. The color shot is also beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo in black and white.

What an interesting place. I like how the architecture is nestled in the forest.
ReplyDeleteStunning in monochrome!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful world! Love how these structures seem to add a fairyland atmosphere to the forest!
ReplyDeleteSo much to see. Lovely monochrome.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lot of scilled handicraft was used to build these. I looked at the coloured one also.

It's a fantastic building, no doubt about it! Great shot.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a nice place to sit and contemplate. Your photo is great!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a place of peace - very nice image. Love those trees.
ReplyDeleteInteresting shot ... so many details.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful photo. I love the atmosphere!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on my shot, Yoshi.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is great in B&W. I shoot a lot of B&W HDR as well - I think it is great when there are varying light levels and you want to get the full spectrum of light and shadow. It can also be good for (like this shot) adding a bit of texture and atmosphere.
I did a blog post a while back on black and white HDR, so you might want to check that out too: http://blog.tokyololas.com/2009/06/29/hdrtonemapping-for-black-white-photos/
At the moment, I am also working on an HDR blog (only HDR related topics and photos), so I hope to have that on the go in early 2011. I'll keep you posted.
LOL...I just realized my comment posted as coming from a person named "blog"...
ReplyDeleteI can feel the peacefulness of this place. You are by far one of my favorite photographers participating in Scenic Sunday.
